The Humanities Research Fund (HRF) is now accepting applications for activities to be carried out between 1 August 2026 - 31 July 2027.

The deadline for Round 1 funding is Monday, 15 June 2026. 

Funding is available to support research activity in the Faculty of Arts, including:

  • Pump-priming to kick-start new, innovative research projects
  • Research Supplements
  • Publication costs
  • Conference travel

Please note that this fund requires a 10% departmental contribution.

Humanities Research Fund (HRF) - Funding Call

The Humanities Research Fund (HRF) is now accepting out-of-cycle applications for activities to be carried out between 1 December 2025 - 31 July 2026.

These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The panel will review applications approximately every 1-2 weeks until the money is allocated.

Funding is available to support research activity in the Faculty of Arts, including:

  • Pump-priming to kick-start new, innovative research projects
  • Research Supplements
  • Publication costs
  • Conference travel

EU Funding & Training Opportunities

Please find below a summary of current EU funding and training opportunities that may be of interest across the Faculty of Arts.

Seed Funding for collaborations and for proposal writing for EU funding opportunities:

  • reminder – still open for submissions, next deadline: Wed 18 March 2026, 5pm
  • No applications received for this deadline yet- this will be the final deadline for this academic year.

Training for Horizon Europe opportunities:

  • - call deadline: 9 Sep 2026; deadline to apply for training: Fri 8 May 12pm. Also open to external applicants looking to be hosted at Warwick. 
  • - call deadlines: Oct 2026 for ERC STG; Jan 2027 for ERC COG; deadline to apply for training: 5pm on Wed 6 May 
  • ERC Plus Grants- Thursday 23 April, 1.30pm- 2.30pm, online. Overview of the ERC’s newest scheme, , with a deadline in Sep 2026. Grants of up to €7 Million (lump sum), 4-7 years, and open to all disciplines. . .
  • - bespoke consultancy support of up to 25 hours per consortium to be offered for up to 2 proposals coordinated by Warwick academics and to be submitted to the 2026 round exclusively. Apply by 5pm on Mon 11 May.

Arts and Humanities Impact Funding

The call for the 2026/27 round of the Arts and Humanities Impact Funding is now open.

The deadline for submission of applications for the next round of AHIF grants is Monday 30 March 2026 at midday.

Applications for activities which will translate Arts and Humanities research into impact are welcomed for the following schemes:

  • Main Fund: Impact in Action: up to £10,000 per financial year between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027
  • Supporting Fund: Enhancing Impact: up to £1,000 per financial year between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027
  • Seed Fund: Early-Stage Activity: up to £1,000 per financial year between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027

The Panel will meet on 14th May and decisions will be communicated by the end of May.

The Rapid Response Fund providing up to £1,000 to enable researchers to undertake urgent impact generating activity or respond to opportunities which are time limited remains open until 31 July 2026.

Warwick Horizon Europe Seed Fund 2025-26

We are hereby launching the for the academic year 2025-26. The fund aims to support Warwick academics and researchers to engage with the Horizon Europe programme.

The Seed Fund provides funding between £3 K- £7.5 K/ award for projects made under one of the three routes:

  1. Route 1: Collaborations (max. £7.5K/ award)
  2. Route 2: Brokerage Events (max. £3K/ award)
  3. Route 3: Consultancy Services (max. £7.5K/ award)

Applications consist of one summary CV per proposal (including details of all relevant collaborators/ consultancy services where applicable) and the completed Application Form (download from ‘How do I apply?’ on the ). Submit applications to the call manager, Lelia Buretia lelia.buretia@warwick.ac.uk.

The next deadline is: Wed 3 December 2025 at 5pm (GMT). Decisions are to be communicated by the end of w/c 15 December. Projects may start immediately but no later than 2 months after receiving the outcome notification. If sufficient funds remain after the December panel, a second deadline will be available in March (Wed 4 March 2026 at 5pm), with decisions from the March panel to be communicated by the end of w/c 16 March 2026. Please note that the March panel is not guaranteed and is dependent on the remaining availability of funds at that point, therefore earlier applications, i.e. to the December deadline, are encouraged.

All projects and all project expenditure must be finalised by 31st July 2026. No project extensions are possible past this date. Any funds unspent by 31st July 2026 will need to be returned.
