Our climate change and sustainability research is focused on making a difference and on driving transformative change to human and environment interactions by bringing together technical, behavioural, policy and cultural perspectives.

Climate action includes tackling the urgent challenge of achieving net-zero carbon emissions but also goes further than this. Our progress towards environmental sustainability will be swifter if we recognise and address the interdependencies, synergies and trade-offs with the social and the economic aspects of sustainability. The UN Sustainable Development Goals highlight the complex interdependencies between environmental, social and economic sustainability by connecting the themes of People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership.
