Title: Complexity in time-series: bio-medical and engineering examples
Abstract:
Starting with a comparison between "medical" and "physical" approaches to analyse the heart rate variability I would like to discuss the question: how can time-series analysis help to reveal the properties of analysed objects. Additionally to the heart rate variability I consider non-stationarity in stress-strain dynamics of aluminium alloys and challenges in analysing measurements of glucose level related to diabetes.
