Working with CAMaCS
Expertise is available within CAMaCS to bring impact to research and consultancy projects. Our team of Innovation Research Associates (InRAs) provides expertise in a flexible manner for both long and short-term projects.
Colleagues who are internal to Warwick can engage with CAMaCS by bringing forward research challenges, ideas, and opportunities that would benefit from the expertise of an InRA. With prior agreement from the CAMaCS Programme Manager, InRAs can be costed onto funding bids and grants at the application stage, or they can become involved in projects that are already live and in need of additional, flexible support to maximise project outcomes and impact.
What do InRAs do?
InRAs are a new type of researcher working to support multiple projects in the space of 鈥渋mpactful research鈥. InRAs in CAMaCS serve as a research intermediary for hand-in-hand impact driven research collaborations between academics in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and other departments, as well as outside partners. This provides the gift of time and research support that would otherwise come as relatively costly investment from the academics concerned. Through their principal role as undertaking mathematical/quantitative/AI modelling, as well as acting as a scientific intermediary between mathematical and AI researchers and other academics and stakeholders, InRAs are included in grant proposals and industry-funded projects.
How can I include an InRA on my funding application or project?
With as much notice as possible before a bid is submitted, please email our Programme Manager & KE Champion, Hajnal Farkas (hajnal.farkas at warwick.ac.uk), to discuss capacity within the team or complete the contact form below. Your departmental CAMaCS Deputy Director may also be consulted informally should there be any questions about how to position your initiative for a streamlined process.
What kinds of projects do InRAs work on?
You can see our case studies here , and read more about the individual expertise of the InRAs on their profile pages here.
