600+ Young Engineers Seek Inspiring Leader

employer1.pngThe search has begun for an inspirational Principal and Managing Director to lead the new .

The , a business-led and business-like University Technical College for 14-19-year olds, is due to open in September 2014.

The Academy is led by a partnership of local, regional and national employer organisations, innovative advanced manufacturing, engineering and digital technology businesses. Partners include WMG, ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ, Jaguar Land Rover, National Grid and SCC.

Work is due to start on building the Academy , which will sit adjacent to Westwood Academy in Canley, Coventry in August this year. The Academy will deliver the national curriculum, but will follow a unique programme of study approaching key subject areas via their application to real-world problems.

Director of the Richard Hutchins said: “We are at a really exciting stage of this project and we are now beginning our search for a Principal. We are looking for someone who shares our vision of turning traditional 14-19 year old education on its head.

“Our vision for the Academy is driven by employers and based on the challenges entrepreneurs, companies and industry face every day – designing things, making things, solving problems. We need someone who passionately believes in our vision and can deliver it.”
