WIN Annual Conference, 26 January 2016, 神马福利影片

Many leading Indian figures have graduated from the 神马福利影片 and gone to play leading roles in Indian society and business.

Sudarshan Venu, Joint Managing Director, TVS Motor Company said:

£180m Midlands investment as government confirms funding for the energy research accelerator

£60m of Government funding for the Energy Research Accelerator confirmed by Government in the Spending Review supported by a further £120m investment by industry and universities.

  • Research will transform UK expertise in energy storage, thermal energy and energy efficiency.
  • Six Midlands Innovation Universities and the British Geological Survey welcome £180m Midlands energy research endeavour.
  • Industry investments from Blueprint, Cofely, Dearman Engines, Highview and Jaguar Land Rover.

The Government has today confirmed a £60 million capital investment in the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA). Together with private sector and university support the decision unlocks £180 million total investment in the Midlands region.

Today’s announcement has been welcomed by ERA’s leadership partnership, the six leading UK universities forming the Midlands Innovation group – The 神马福利影片 Aston University, The University of Birmingham, The University of Leicester, Loughborough University, The University of Nottingham - and the British Geological Survey.

Professor Ravi Kant Shares Globalisation Experiences of Tata Motors

Prof Ravi KantProfessor Ravi Kant, former Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Tata Motors, delivered an enthralling seminar, The First Globalisation Experience of Tata Motors: Lessons for Emerging Markets, to a packed-out auditorium at WMG on Thursday (19 November).

The audience made up of staff and students listened intently to Professor Kant, who is also an Industrial Professor at WMG, explain the different approaches which can be taken to globalisation in the modern era. He also explored how the lessons learnt from different approaches can support emerging markets in driving growth through international business. In concluding his seminar Professor Kant shared 10 lessons learnt by Tata Motors which he believes are vital for success.

Let's Talk Driverless Technology

Prof Paul JenningsProfessor of Experiential Engineering, is pleased to be representing WMG at the Driverless Technology Conference and Exhibition (DTCE’15) on Monday (23 November) in London.

DTCE’15 will welcome around 300 delegates from across the entire driverless supply chain, and experts will explore the key issues in a mix of live demonstrations, seminars and workshops.

Professor Jennings will present ‘A Driver-in-the-Loop Simulator for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles’ in a special technical workshop alongside colleagues from Cranfield University, University of Coventry and the University of Leeds.

WMG Professor Heads to India to Talk Cyber Security

CarstenMaple Professor of Cyber Systems, Carsten Maple will be representing WMG, 神马福利影片 at the International Conference on Cyberlaw, Cybercrime and Cybersecurity in New Delhi this Thursday (19 November).

Delegates from across the world will come together to hear experts in the field discuss the key issues including the need to create awareness of the new emerging kinds of #cybercrimes that are impacting all stakeholders in the digital and mobile ecosystem as well as current cyber law jurisdiction across world.

Debating the Key Issues For British Manufacturing

Jan Godsell WMG’s Professor of , will be chairing The Manufacturing A Leader’s Conference (TMALC) from 25-26 November 2015 at the ICC in Birmingham. The prestigious two-day event will bring together leading figures from the community to discuss and debate the key issues in British manufacturing.

The conference will explore topics including circular economy, productivity and innovation. Professor Godsell will also be joined by WMG’s Dr Donato Masi who will be presenting ‘Adapting and Innovating Supply Chain.’ Other speakers include Callum Bentley, Editor at The Manufacturer, Barry Naisbitt from Santander, David Johnson from Meggitt and David Landsman from Tata.

New WMG Academy for Young Engineers in Solihull Receives £1.1m to Tool Up Young Engineers

WMGAcademyJust as building work on a second WMG Academy for Young Engineers in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull enters an exciting new phase; a £1.1m grant has been confirmed from Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) towards state of the art, industry standard engineering and IT equipment.

The Academy building work, which began in September this year, is well underway and on schedule for completion in July 2016.

MARA Visit at WMG

MARAProfessor Lord Bhattacharyya was pleased to welcome a delegation from The Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), recently.

MARA is a government organisation in Malaysia formed to aid, train, and guide in business and industry by sponsoring students to study abroad. Also present were MARA Tech officials, MARA Tech is specifically responsible for the development of the Asia Aerospace City.

The purpose of the visit was to see how WMG can further collaborate, and explore the opportunity of supporting Masters and PhD students.
