The Impact of AI on Green Jobs

IER's Peter DickinsonLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window gave a presentation at the Career Development Institute (CDI)'s AI in on the impact of AI on green jobs.

Drawing on research projects funded by York City Council, Skills Development Scotland and The Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture, the presentation covered 'what is a green job?' and how many there are, as well as the nature of AI in farming, and its expected impact on jobs and skills.

Forecasting the future of work: the ISABEL framework

The Warwick Institute for Employment Research (IER) is a key partner in ISABEL, a pioneering Horizon Europe project dedicated to managing labour market shifts triggered by the green and digital transitions. Running from November 2024 to November 2027, the project utilises AI-powered analytics to minimise the costs and maximise the benefits of job creation and destruction. Led by , the IER team, including , , , and , is developing robust forecasting methodologies.

Supporting the digital and green transitions

IER's Peter Dickinson joined meetings in the Horizon Bridges 5.0 project in Vienna.

He led one of the workshops as part of the foresight element of the project, discussing the policy implications across a range of potential scenarios that the transitions might bring.

IER at the CIPD Conference

±õ·¡¸é’s Peter Dickinson participated in the Evidence Lab at the CIPD's Annual Conference in Manchester. He gave a presentation on the main findings emerging from the work IER has been doing on the implications of the green transition for jobs and skills. Following this there was a Q&A session with the audience.

IER in Islamabad

IER was invited to contribute to the ‘TVET in the Shifting of Socio-Economic Paradigm’ conference in Islamabad on the 2nd-3rd October. Peter Dickinson represented IER on the panel of the 'Greening and Transforming TVET for more Resilient and Sustainable Economy' session. He spoke about IER's work analysing the impact of the green and digital transitions on jobs and skills.
