Chris Moran featured on BBC Radio 4
On Friday 5th November, , an Assistant Professor of US National Security, was interviewed on BBC Radio 4's The Today programme. The interview, which took place on 'Global James Bond Day', was conducted by BBC correspondent Gordon Carrera and focused on the remarkable interest taken by the CIA during the Cold War in the Bond franchise. Dr. Moran explained how the CIA successfully replicated Rosa Klebb's lethal footwear from From Russia With Love, but failed in their attempts to copy the technology (hidden machine gun turrets etc) of 007's classic Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger.

Dr Oz Hassan chairs talk given by Sir Robert Worcester at the Royal Society in London
Dr Oz Hassan, Assistant Professor in US National Security, chaired a talk given by Honorary PAIS Professor and founder of Market and Opinion Research International Ltd. (MORI), Sir Robert Worcester, at the Royal Society in London on 22 October. Sir Robert Worcester is a well-known figure in British public opinion research and political circles and as a media commentator, especially about voting intentions in British and American elections. Over 120 Warwick alumni were present at the lecture, which was entitled: 'The 2012 American Presidential Election: Who's Going to Win, and Why'.
Prof Peter Burnell co-edits special issue of Democratization
and Jana Mittag’s co-edited special issue of the journal Democratization on ‘Democracy, Democratization and Climate Change: Complex Relationships’, (Volume 19, Issue 5), containing articles by PAIS’s Peter Burnell and among others, has been published in October 2012, and will be distributed among its many global partners by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, a Green think-tank and international policy network based in Berlin.
