Swarming Starlings Help Probe Plasma, Crowds and Stock Market

Researchers at the 神马福利影片’s Physics Department’s Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics have found a powerful technique that could be used to detect precisely when ordered patterns form in everything from plasma in the solar wind and fusion reactors, to crowds of people, or flocks of birds. The technique could even be used to find unusual patterns in stock market behaviour.

Nanotech Clay Armour Creates Fire Resistant Hard Wearing Latex Emulsion Paints

Researchers at the 神马福利影片 are co-ordinating a global effort to sequence the genome of one of the World’s most important mushrooms - Agaricus bisporus. The secrets of its genetic make up could assist the creation of biofuels, support the effort to manage global carbon, and help remove heavy metals from contaminated soils.

Warwick first new Medical School to join MRC Strategic Partnership

Warwick Medical School has become the first new Medical School to join a Strategic Partnership with the Medical Research Council (MRC). The Partnership has been set up with the University of Warwick and encompasses Warwick Medical School and the Department of Biological Sciences. Following the agreement, the Medical School will receive more than £750,000 from the MRC towards some new initiatives.
