A new report published today Monday 25^th June 2108 shows that UK companies are well-placed to supply valuable materials needed for batteries to be built in UK – a potential £2.7 billion per year business opportunity. The report commissioned by WMG at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ, was launched to the Chemical Industry Association at the Chemistry Growth Partnership meeting in London, chaired by Steve Foots, Chief Executive of Croda, and attended by Richard Harrington MP.

Lampposts could be the answer to electric vehicle charging, thanks to help from researchers at WMG, ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ in bringing a new brand of charging points to market – some of which are powering electric vehicles on the University campus.

WMG, at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ are partners in a £1.4m EPSRC funded research project addressing challenges about "Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security in the Digital Economy".

Midlands Future Mobility, a consoritum led by WMG at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ, will use over 50 miles of Coventry and Birmingham roads to establish the Midlands as a world class UK centre for the development, and evaluation of, connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) and related technologies and services.

The future of daily urban commuting could be small, lightweight Electric L-category Vehicles (ELVs) – a cost effective, energy efficient and comfortable alternative to traditional cars in cities, is at the heart of the €6.92m RESOLVE project, which included WMG at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ.

Mobile telecommunication operators, infrastructure suppliers, car manufacturers, and local councils are all seeking to understand the benefit from the leap in bandwidth promised by 5G technologies, and are lining up to use the very latest 5G evaluation technology now available at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ.
