UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship award to simulate and develop chemical reactions fuelled by sunlight and greenhouse gases

The intricate interplay of sunlight, molecules, and metal catalyst materials that can break down greenhouse gases such as CO2 will be explored in the Department of Chemistry at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ, by Dr Reinhard J. Maurer using computer simulations thanks to award of £1.46M by the Government’s UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship programme.

Molecular heaters to boost crop growth thanks to €4.9m project

A 4.9m EU H2020 grant will enable a consortium of researchers from across Europe, to embark on a project called ‘Boostcrop’. They will use state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical methodologies to design molecular heaters which will enhance crop growth under cold and freezing stress.

Novel anti-cancer drug delivery system being presented in Parliament by Warwick student

Sean Ellacott, 25, a third year PhD student at the ÉñÂí¸£ÀûӰƬ, , is attending Parliament to present his chemistry research about the interaction of self-assembling nanotubes with biological models, which are currently being considered for the delivery of anticancer drugs, to a range of politicians and a panel of expert judges, as part of STEM for BRITAIN on Wednesday 13 March.
