Research Culture Roadmap and Action Plan

Our Research Culture Roadmap sets out an ambitious vision for creating the conditions in which excellent research can thrive. It reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive research environment where people can do their best work. To turn this vision into action, we have developed a practical action plan that translates our priorities into achievable steps.

Through this plan, we will deliver tangible improvements, build on existing strengths, and drive meaningful cultural change across our research community. The action planLink opens in a new window is intentionally flexible, allowing us to respond to emerging needs and opportunities. It will be reviewed and refreshed in line with insights from our biennial Research Culture Survey, ensuring that our activities continue to reflect the experiences and priorities of our community.

Theory of Change
We developed a Theory of Change framework to provide a clear and shared account of how improving research culture at Warwick can lead to meaningful and sustained change. Co-created with members of the research community, the framework sets out the key challenges we face, the assumptions that shape our approach, and how specific activities and investments are expected to contribute to short-, medium- and long-term outcomes. It has helped us move from identifying priorities to articulating a coherent pathway for action, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and identifying how progress can be monitored and learned from over time. As such, the Theory of Change underpins both the structure of the roadmap and our approach to evaluation and continuous improvement.
