Important reminder from the Permit Office
Do you request or return permits as part of your role?
The Permit Office has issued important reminders about submitting permit applications and returning completed permits.
If you use the INVIDA system, please make sure you're following the correct processes. Keeping to notice periods and returning signed-off permits on time helps maintain safe, compliant and efficient working across Estates.

Cleaning Schedule Adjustments
Discover how you can help keep meeting rooms clean, as we make changes to our cleaning schedules across campus. From 1 August you'll notice meeting rooms and stairwells will be cleaned weekly.
Gas pipe diversion for STEM: Thursday 10th - Friday 11th April
From Thursday 10th April - Friday 11th April, an existing gas pipeline located at the corner of Lord Bhattacharyya Way (opposite the Lord Bhattacharyya Building) will be diverted and safely purged as part of planned works.
During this process, there may be a noticeable smell of gas in the air around the STEM site. Please be assured that this is expected and part of a controlled and safe purge of the pipeline in preparation for its removal. There is no cause for concern.

Car Park 15 partial closures & updates
To support essential electrical distribution board upgrades within , car parking bays will be limited within the car park to levels where lighting power is available.
The following locations will be closed for approximately 1 week over a 3-week period:
Week 22/04/2024 – 28/04/2024
Floors affected/closed:
2, 2A, 3, 3A
Week 29/04/2024 – 05/05/2024
Floors affected/closed:
1, 1A, 1x Stairwell
Week 06/05/2024 – 12/05/2024
Floors affected/closed:
G, GA, 1x Stairwell
Existing EV chargers will also be removed from Car Park 15 following a safety review. Alternative EV parking can be found on the website:

A new EV charging scheme and increase of EV bays on campus will be coming this summer.
Temporary closure of Kirby Corner Car Park (multi-storey): Friday 22nd March
On Friday 22nd March, the multi-storey section of the Kirby Corner car park will be closed for approximately 1 and half hours to allow access to the earth rod pits as part of the lightning protection inspection. The closure will operate early morning between 6am – 7:30 am to minimise disruption.
Alternative parking can be found in the outer section of the car park during this period.
