Conscious Inclusion in-person workshop introduces the foundational concepts needed to better understand diversity and support inclusion. It aims to provide a supportive space for colleagues to reflect on the role of bias in the workplace, understand the ethical and legal boundaries of workplace behaviour, and consider what their own personal biases might be. By exploring these concepts, the workshop contributes to a culture of shared awareness where staff feel comfortable, valued, and empowered to help others feel the same. The student loan system has received significant media and political attention recently – in particular the cost of repayments on graduates.

In this session Kate Ogden, Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies will be talking about the evolution of and challenges with the current system, as well as some of the options for changing it. This debate is central to many of the fundamental policy challenges facing the higher education sector – from ensuring universities are effective engines of social mobility to protecting the financial sustainability of institutions.

This is a great opportunity to hear from, and put your questions to, someone at the forefront of the national discussion on student loans. Kate’s recent publications are available here.

This event is hosted by the Professional Services Excellence Network - a group that brings together staff who work in professional service roles across the University. This workshop will bring together leading researchers in academia and industry to present and discuss how methods in Quantitative System Pharmacology (QSP) are being applied to problems in pharmacology, in connecting and informing pharmaceutical action at subcellular, cellular and higher level scales (e.g., populations).

Over an exciting and interactive 2.5 day meeting of invited and submitted talks and poster presentations, participants will also learn to work with QSP modelling software. Further details regarding registration fees, accommodation, and programme details will follow in due course.
