Research Interests
I have a background in Physics (BSc), Astrophysics (MSc)and Solar Physics (PhD in Mathematics, and during subsequent postdocs), with a focus on numericalmagnetohydrodynamics (MHD) simulations.My expertise lies in developing, running andanalysing large-scale 3D numerical MHD experiments, on HPC,of waves and magnetic reconnectioninmodels set in the solar atmosphere, using codes such as PLUTO and MPI-AMRVAC.I have producednovel work on the excitation of continuous, 鈥渄ecayless鈥 transverse oscillations in coronal loops, thedevelopment of wave-induced turbulence, the energization of the solar corona through waveheating and finally, the study of periodic reconnec6on and its potentialal as a plasma diagnostics tool,within the context of solar coronal seismology. During my work, I have also put emphasis in creatingsynthetic observables, targeting existing (SDO/AIA, Solar Orbiter) and future (Multi-slit Solar Explorer- MUSE) instruments, to directly compare my results with observations of the solar atmosphere.
