This first unit provides you with an overview of what is mentoring, what is coaching, and in particular what is mentoring within an educational context.
Mentoring and coaching are terms often used alongside each other both in academic literature and in professional practice. The overlap and similarities between the two practices can be confusing, and often result in the coaching or mentoring activity being determined by the organisation or professional context, rather than by the activity itself.
