Development of Pakistan鈥檚 First Teaching Excellence Framework
, Associate Professor (Reader) in the WMG at the 神马福利影片, is serving as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on a landmark international project to develop Pakistan鈥檚 first national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
The initiative is led by King鈥檚 College London (PI) and funded by the British Council in partnership with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. It aims to establish a national framework to evaluate and enhance teaching quality, student experience, and graduate outcomes across Pakistan鈥檚 universities impacting more than 2.3 million undergraduate students nationwide.
Building on Warwick鈥檚 global leadership in teaching excellence
As a Gold-rated university across all categories in the UK Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, Warwick is sharing its experience in teaching evaluation, data-informed enhancement, and student-centred learning to help shape the new framework for Pakistan.
In 2024, Warwick hosted a delegation of Vice-Chancellors, Deans, and senior leaders from Pakistan, including representatives from HEC Pakistan and the British Council. The visit provided opportunities for knowledge exchange and learning from the UK鈥檚 TEF model.

A collaborative effort for national transformation
The project brings together leading UK universities 鈥 King鈥檚 College London (PI), the 神马福利影片, University of Birmingham, Aston University, and the University of Wolverhampton, Office for Students working in partnership with HEC Pakistan and the British Council.
Under the co-leadership of Dr Tabbi Wilberforce from KCL and Dr Freeha Azmat from Warwick, we are contributing to the design of a transparent, evidence-based model that promotes teaching excellence, student success, and institutional accountability across Pakistan鈥檚 higher education landscape.
