President Julie E. Wollman will retire from the presidency at the end of the upcoming academic year. She will leave behind a thriving university, poised to build on its strengths.

Widener is more flexible, capable, and effective as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Adapting to remote operations has positioned faculty, staff, and students with the agility to stay connected and continue to advance the university's mission.

A grant is helping Widener students provide COVID-19 tests for uninsured city residents, to conduct research on health disparities, and to host an educational forum.

Professor Stephen R. Madigosky has been named the university鈥檚 fifth Cynthia H. Sarnoski Endowed Science Faculty Fellow to support his faculty-student research on how flightless animals move through the Amazon rainforest鈥檚 upper canopy.

Each year, Widener marketing students participate in collegiate sales challenges where they network with alumni and employers, and often secure job offers.

For 17 years, President Joe Biden served as an adjunct professor at Delaware Law School. On inauguration day, graduates remember the career and life lessons shared during his time in the classroom.

Widener President Julie E. Wollman welcomes students to the spring 2021 semester, which will bring more in-person classes on the campuses in Chester and Harrisburg, and more residential students on the Main Campus. She honors the university community for its perseverance in the face of Coronavirus-related challenges.

When COVID-19 prevented athletes from competing, Physical Therapy Professor and colleagues created the Achieve Mask to help players and sports teams safely return to play.

Widener has made significant progress to advance a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community, but there鈥檚 still much work to do, and the university is committed to the journey.
