Significant progress was made overnight, and the Test and Development server issues have now been resolved.

Most Virtual Desktop services are now operating normally, including workspace.warwick.ac.uk.

We continue to investigate and resolve the remaining issues.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are treating the remaining issues as a priority.

Following an overnight network incident, we are aware of some knock-on impacts.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working to restore services as quickly as possible.

Users relying on the services below today should be aware that they remain at risk of disruption while investigations and remedial work continue.

Virtual Desktop services (including workspace.warwick.ac.uk and similar virtual desktop services) are operating in a degraded state.

  • Some users may be unable to connect or may lose access while investigations continue.

Test and Development servers provided by the Linux Hosting and Windows Hosting services are currently unavailable. Production servers are not affected.

  • This service should be considered at risk today, as activity required to restore service may result in temporary disruption while a fix is implemented.

We are aware of two network issues affecting teams in the Students' Union Building and the CiMAC team within WMG.

  • The Networks team is investigating these reports.

Network incident causing IT Service issues.

There was an incident overnight between 17:19 and 19:00 that caused network connectivity issues, affecting the main University website and a number of other IT systems and services.

The underlying issue was resolved at approximately 18:30. Some services recovered immediately, while others returned to normal operation over the following 20–30 minutes.

While the root cause has been resolved, we are aware of a small number of related issues and knock-on impacts, including the current Virtual Desktop service issue, which we are continuing to investigate and address. We continue to monitor services closely.

We apologise for the disruption caused. Once our investigations are complete, we will undertake a full incident review.
