Don鈥檛 try to put Evan Davis 鈥21 into a box.
On paper, he seems like a 鈥渘umbers person,鈥 triple majoring in business analytics, finance, and management.
But Evan is a self-described 鈥渁rtsy guy,鈥 who attributes his creativity to his late grandmother. He鈥檚 a writer, musician, photographer, and comic book enthusiast who pens his own stories.
At Widener, Evan has had the opportunity and flexibility to pursue it all 鈥 business, arts, leadership, and multiple study abroad trips.
With a wide range of student organizations at his fingertips, Evan has found a place within both Widener鈥檚 Money Club (a student-managed investment fund group), and The Blue Route (an undergraduate literary journal).
Through peer mentoring and Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity, Evan fulfills his Superman-inspired desire to help others.
I always feel like I can be doing more. Widener provided the tools and opportunities that I've taken advantage of with my immense, internal motivation. 鈥 Evan Davis '21
In addition to his three majors, Evan will have several business certificates under his belt when he graduates: 鈥淲idener gives me access to so many great opportunities I wouldn't have had elsewhere. These experiences and opportunities give me a great competitive advantage heading into the workforce.鈥
Evan serves as the student trustee on Widener鈥檚 Board of Trustees. In this role, he鈥檚 gaining an appreciation for the value of long-term thinking: 鈥淎s a young person, thinking five years in the future, that鈥檚 a quarter of my life, so I didn鈥檛 do that very often. Being on the board is getting me more accustomed to longer-term ideas.鈥
Evan placed second in a global student app development contest hosted by . His app, originally designed for Widener鈥檚 Small Business Development Center, was featured at Widener鈥檚 Student Project Day. That鈥檚 where a Mendix representative saw it and encouraged him to enter the contest, while others in attendance told him to reach out for potential job opportunities.
