To celebrate International Workers’ Day (May Day) we have organised an online exhibition to showcase some of the policy briefs realised by students of Labour Law in Context (LA3A6) over the years. These group policy briefs are part of the assessment for the module and aim to encourage students to engage with current labour law debates and learn about policy writing as a tool for legal change. For students this is also an opportunity to value the importance of teamwork, negotiate positions, and work towards a common goal.

For their final lecture, Labour Law in Context students had the opportunity to learn about the Modern Records Centre (MRC) archives and explore historical documents through a hands-on interactive exercise. Founded in 1973 and located adjacent to the Warwick campus Library, the MRC is the main British repository for national archives of trade unions and labour relations.

Every year, several awards and prizes are granted to a selection of our graduating students to recognise and celebrate the success of our top performers! We are proud to announce this year's winners.

First year students Ryan Bingham (3 year LLB) and Simran Bhutada (4 year LLB) took part in the National Law Student Triathlon on Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 April 2025, organised by Kent University. Supported by the Bar Society and funded by Warwick Law School, Ryan and Simran have each blogged about their time at the Triathlon, sharing their experiences with other students looking to attend similar events in the future.

Warwick Law School is delighted to share that three of our current undergraduate students received departmental funding to present at The British Conference for Undergraduate Research (BCUR) hosted by the University of Newcastle from 9-10 April this year.

The Warwickshire Junior Lawyers Division is a recently re-launched community for junior lawyers across Warwickshire. LLB student Jaskiran Sandhu is Vice Chair of the WJLD. She told us a little more about the launch event, what the WJLD has to offer, and why WLS students should consider joining whilst membership fees are waived.

Former LLB student and Chief Executive of the Society of Authors Nicola Solomon was awarded an OBE in the 2025 King's New Year’s Honours list for services to Literature and the Creative Industries.

Stowe Family Law LLP are offering the Law School’s undergraduate students an exciting opportunity to undertake a work experience placement at their Leamington Spa office, in the form of a Law Prize awarded to our highest performing student.

Naveera Abhayawickrama, who is currently in her second year studying on our LLB 3-year law degree has been awarded a Warwick International Higher Education Academy (WIHEA) Fellowship. Congratulations from everyone at WLS Naveera, and best of luck in your activities with WIHEA.

We are delighted to announce that one of our recent graduates has been awarded The University’s Outstanding Student Contribution Award (OSCA) for 2023.

Emma Tetsill, who studied on our Law 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2022, has written a touching story titled 'My Grandad and Covid - with underlying health conditions in care home, his life was no less valuable'. The heartfelt piece was recently published by our Lacuna Magazine and addresses the tragic human cost of the pandemic and government neglect.
