Widener University students who return to campus next year will find a number of exciting improvements to campus dining services. The changes are being made in response to many student requests. 

In partnership with Aramark, the university’s food service provider, Widener will add multiple new eateries on campus, all with no increase to meal plan costs for the 2020-21 academic year. The changes come after Widener consulted with multiple dining contractors in a search to enhance its offerings and be ahead of dining trends. 

“We hope students recognize that we were listening carefully to their feedback. Their opinions matter, and we are committed to exceeding expectations,” said Dean of Students John Downey. “It is especially exciting to offer these enhancements while holding the line on our meal plan costs, which is the result of our productive relationship with Aramark.”

New dining venues arriving on campus this fall include:

•    Starbucks – specializing in coffee drinks and light fare.
•    Freshens Fresh Food Studio – specializing in smoothies, yogurt, flatbreads and salads.
•    Bento Sushi – specializing in made-to-order sushi, bento boxes, ramen and rice bowls.
•    Tenders, Love, and Chicken – comfort fare specializing in chicken, homemade side dishes and sauces.
•    Good Uncle – an app-based, on-demand food delivery service with a rotating menu of restaurant quality items delivered to locations across campus. 
•    In the Pride Café, diners will find a renewed emphasis on quality and variety. Widener will add a True Balance station that highlights healthy ingredients without the most common food allergens. A newly added campus dietician will also be available in the café to assist people with their healthy eating goals.

Moe’s Southwest Grill and Einstein Bros. Bagels will continue their operations in Harris Hall, and Uno Pizzeria and Grill will remain an option for students on the meal plan.
