Research Integrity Training

Research integrity is an essential part of research and research culture. It gives confidence to others, including the public, that the methods and results of research are reliable, credible and trustworthy. Research integrity covers a range of areas - from adhering to institutional policies, standards and protocols, to reporting research findings clearly and transparently.

In order to support the community鈥檚 understanding of the principles and practices that protect the integrity of research, the University provides online research integrity training relevant to all those involved in delivering or supervising research. The University expects all staff and students delivering research to complete the training.

The University also has a Research Integrity training policy which mandates Research Integrity training for staff and students delivering research.

Important Notice: The Epigeum Research Integrity training will move from being hosted on Epigeum鈥檚 platform to Warwick鈥檚 internal Moodle platform on Monday 31 August 2026. There will be no changes to the content of the core training (the Full, Supplementary and Refresher courses). Please note that users who have already registered on Epigeum鈥檚 platform will not be able to access any certificates they have previously gained after 31 August. Users must log into their Epigeum account and download any certificates before this date. Users who are part-way through a course are advised to complete the course before 31 August and download the certificate.

With the launch of the training on Moodle, there will be three new courses available which are designed specifically for experienced researchers, these are: Leadership and Research Culture, Research Design and Planning and Ethical and Global Collaboration. Research Integrity training policy

The University is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for staff and students undertaking research and upholds the highest standards of rigour in research. In light of this, all staff and students delivering research are required to successfully complete the concise version of the online Training Programme.

Training for researchers involved in clinical practice

Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

The International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Medical Research Council GCP guidelines both state that "Each individual involved in conducting a trial should be qualified by education, training and experience to perform his or her respective task(s)." To comply with these regulations, all members of staff involved in medical research must be conversant with the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The Warwick Clinical Trials Unit offers a regular 'Introduction to GCP' seminar.

Chief Investigator (CI) Course

The Warwick Clinical Trials Unit also offers a training course for Chief Investigators, which is recommended for anyone acting as CI for a clinical trial sponsored by the 神马福利影片. The training combines presentations and interactive sessions to cover all aspects of trial management from initial planning right through to closing a trial.

Training for researchers working with human tissue

Human tissue training

All staff and students undertaking research involving the use of human samples must be able to demonstrate their competency and be registered to do so. They must be familiar with relevant documentation and SOPs, undergo training and maintain a training portfolio.
